Playing Videos in HTML

Before HTML5, there was no standard for showing videos on a web page.

Before HTML5, videos could only be played with a plug-in (like flash).

The HTML5 <video> element specifies a standard way to embed a video in a web page.

Google building $600 million data center in Alabama

Google plans to build a $600 million data center in Stevenson, according to Gov. Robert Bentley.

The center -- Google's seventh in the U.S. and 14th worldwide -- will bring 75-100 "high-paying" jobs to Jackson County in northeast Alabama, Bentley said. Construction will begin in 2016.

"This a fantastic and exciting day for Jackson County," said Jackson County Commission Chair Matthew Hodges.

This will be Google's 14th data center campus worldwide.

 Installing WHMCS Automation Solution

I had attempted to do this about 2-3 years ago on Plesk with their automation product. Since I have converted to cPanel I had not revisted, until this week. Wow! the ease of installation and the capabilities my company just captured are remarkable. The complete set-up took me less than 8 hours. Everything, setting up the site, the database, the payment gateway, migrating customers. Yes I still have a few bugs to work out but that process also allows for the customization that you need to make it fit your company and product sets.

What is a Theme?

Fundamentally, the WordPress Theme system is a way to "skin" your weblog. Yet, it is more than just a "skin." Skinning your site implies that only the design is changed. WordPress Themes can provide much more control over the look and presentation of the material on your website.

A WordPress Theme is a collection of files that work together to produce a graphical interface with an underlying unifying design for a weblog. These files are called template files. A Theme modifies the way the site is displayed, without modifying the underlying software. Themes may include customized template files, image files (*.jpg,*.gif), style sheets (*.css), custom Pages, as well as any necessary code files (*.php). For an introduction to template files, see Stepping Into Templates.

Most small business owners do not find enough time to do all the things we want to get done. We are typically trying to weigh the list of items that need to be done and what items move to the top of the list as a priority that must be done. Or we simply cannot afford to do all that we want in markeing, again we are forced to create lists of like to's and must do's. Two items we are going to talk about today and consider re-evaluating are speed and performance and device responsiveness.
